Pemàdizidjig (The People): Celebrating World Indigenous Peoples Day
The International Education Centre, in partnership with the Mamidosewin Centre, invites you to celebrate World Indigenous Peoples Day and honour the cultures, knowledge, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples around the world.
Indigenous Peoples are keepers of ancient knowledge, protectors of cultural heritage, stewards of the land, and vital contributors to the wellbeing of our communities and our shared future.
Join us at the Mamidosewin Centre to learn from fellow students as they share perspectives and experiences connected to Indigenous cultures and communities from around the world.
This event will be facilitated by Anita Tenasco, an Anishinaabe Algonquin from Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation, educator, and Director of Indigenous Initiatives at Algonquin College. Anita will guide the conversation, share insights about her Nation’s culture, language, and history, and create space for questions, dialogue, and learning.
This event offers an opportunity to broaden your understanding, celebrate cultural diversity, and engage in meaningful dialogue, learning, and reflection.
All students, staff, and faculty are welcome.
Come learn, connect, and celebrate Indigenous cultures from around the world.
